dc.description.abstract A virtual learning environment (VLE) is an information system that facilitates relearning. VLE process, store and disseminate educational material and support communication associated with teaching and loaming. A successful teaching and learning process through VLE will enhance the ability to achieve the lecturers and the students' educational objectives. The aim of the study is to analyze the variables related to the VLE in Eastern University, Sri Lanka from the view of both lecturers and students. The instrument for data collection was a five-point Likert scale type structured questionnaire. This study uses seven variables related to VLE from the view of lecturers such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, personal innovativeness, behavioral intention to use and use behaviour and four variables related to VLE from the view of students such as learner interface, learning community, content and usefulness. For this sturdiest lecturers and 305 students have responded for the questionnaires from the selected faculties of Eastern University, Sri Lanka. Further, the researcher used convenience sampling methods to design the sample from selected faculties of Eastern University, Sri Lanka which are Faculty of Commerce and Management, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Agriculture. The collected data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 25.0 version and univariate and bivariate analysis were used to analyze the variables. The findings of the study revealed that most of the variables ate thighs levels and only one variable is at moderate level in this study. Furthermore, most of the variables have medium positive relationship, very few variables have strong positive relationship and only one variable has weak positive correlation with other variables. The findings of the study are expected to help both the researchers and practitioners. This study adds knowledge for existing literature to fill the research gaps existing in the related topic. In addition, results of the current study can provide practical implications for university's teaching and learning process. en_US
