Abstract:
The experiment was conduct at home garden, Kurunegala. For this experiment, Beeralu rabu
(Raphanus sativus -L) varieties seeds were used. In the current situation, the main problem is the
lack of fertilizers to achieve the maximum yield and growth of the crops. Application of Moringa
leaf and cow urine was also benefited since it boost the soil quality by improving the factors such
as, water holding capacity, nitrogen use efficiency, porosity and cation exchange capacity.
Research was carried out using Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments and
five replications. The seeds of Radish (Raphanus sativus L) were obtained from Bathalagoda Agro
(PVT) LTD. Cow urine and Moringa leaves were collected from a house of the village. Polybag
and compost were brought from local shop. A 200-gauge polybags with a height of 30 cm and a
diameter of 20 cm was used. The bags were filled with soil and compost 1: 1: and 80 g of cow
dung per polybag. The plastic bags have been properly labeled. The seeds were sown in polybags
at 1-3 cm depth and covered with soil. From this study, it was found that the cow urine 3%
concentration and 5g of Moringa leaf was significantly increased the growth and yield of Raphanus
sativus L. when compared to control plants. Therefore, the best combination ratio of Moriga leaf
5g and cow urine 3% concentration among tested treatments to get the higher yield and higher
growth rate of radish.
